New guy in Hampton VA

Hello everyone, name's John. Finally decided to join this extremely informative site after a while of researching the forums here. The information I have gathered here really played a key roll in making my decision on what detector to buy, and accessories, where to go for my first hunts, and just about everything else. Thank you!

A little about myself, I'm not exactly a newby when it comes to detecting. I have been exposed to it in the past, and my kids had a detector, a cheapo thing that was a pain in the butt. But I am new to the hobby, and it's something I have been wanting to do for years.

I'm military (Army) and just moved to the Hampton Roads area. 3 years until retirement, and from the looks of it, I may stay in the area afterwards. Great place I think.

Here's what you guys helped me decide on: Garrett AT Pro (great machine by the way), Garrett Pro Pointer, and a plethora of digging tools...LOL.

Thanks again, and I look forward to gaining a vast amount of knowledge in here!
