Welcome to TNet! Sorry not in your area but usually beaches, parks, lakes and sports fields as well as known areas of habitat are your best bets.

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Wisconsin for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome to the best hobby on the planet! One area to be aware of is your Wisconsin State Parks. They pretty much only grant a permit to detect there if you are specifically looking for something you or someone you know lost. Google Wisconsin DNR and search on metal detecting. Never detect anywhere that you don't have permission, like abandoned homes. Best of luck and post your finds!

Welcome to TNET from MN. Your best bet starting hunting is asking for permission from private property owners first and avoiding Federal lands like the plague.

A big welcome to the hobby and to this website from the great state of Connecticut. Good hunting and good luck.

Welcome. Are you near LaCrosse? I'd sure love to wander around your neck of the woods. My ancestors rest in Sauk County soil.

Hello to All, I am an old TH ing dog from New York transplanted to Utah! Heard about all the fun you guys and gals been having out here in the west, figured I'd come and play in the sandbox.... looking for places to find fosslils and maybe do a little gold panning, any decent locations near Box Elder county?
