Hi guys. Just to let you know I'm not just lurking anymore. I know some of you must live nearby. I was reading some of the lost treasure stories last night and was amazed at the many places I've been to and didn't know the history of (Bagby, Briceburg etc.)

I just tinker with my detector, although I did find a friends truck keys Monday at a music festival and the nearest locksmith was a ways away.

Greetings calisdad! How is the prospecting in Groveland? Every time I head in that direction I head over to the Iron Door for some dinner and adult beverages. I've always wondered what the gold prospecting scene was like in Groveland and the surrounding area.

Hi Mr_Larry. Lots and lots of places to poke around. I've found quite a few old mines/tailing piles and there are plenty of bedrock creeks. Most of my success has been poking around the iron rangers at campgrounds. I did find a place down by the lake where I hit a dispersed stash of quarters and a couple of silver rings. I need to practice tuning out the noise with my detector and winter time is best here as the ground is quite hard in the summer. Hey I bet if you could get under the floorboards of the Iron Door you would find 'something'. It's certainly been there long enough.
