New guy from NJ

Where ya going? Maybe I'll see ya out there.
Remember, unless you have a MD made for the salt water to stay away from the ocean or the wet sand. It will just make a regular detector go crazy with false signals.
Happy Hunting

I have a Ace 250

Hello Orbie and Ace350! I too am from this wonderful state of NJ. I'm new myself and looking for someone to hunt with to learn the ropes. I'm not that close to the shore, about an hour. I'm actually close to Philly. I have a Tesoro Vaquero. Anyway just wanted to say hi!

Hey Mortarman,
Welcome to the forum.
Look here for guys to hunt with around you.
If you find someone close, just send them a personal message asking if they want to go on a hunt with you.

Here's the link:

Also this MD Store might be close to you.
Can't hurt to stop by and ask if there are others looking to hunt together.
I believe they have a MD club also.

The ring is non magnetic but it has no markings on the inside so I guess it's stainless.
Got it outta the surf. The VDI on my AT-Pro was hitting on 40-42.
Out of the two pennies one is a zincolon and the other is a non readable date wheat. At least it's all copper!

Nice finds Ace! Does the lighter still work? :laughing7: I don't have a saltwater machine yet but I'd love to get one someday. My cousin owns a house in Avalon and we go there at least twice a year.

Welcome to the wonderful world of MD and treasure hunting!

My Mom used to live in central NJ (Princeton area), so I know that state well.
