I am more into artifacts, bottles, etc. for the past few years, have not done much coin shooting.

Decided to upgrade my equipment and purchased a Garrett gti 1500.

Went out to an area I have hunted for artifacts and just wanted to test it for an hour or so prior to other searching.

Kept the machine in the pre-set coin mode; another member suggested I turn down the sensitivity, which I did. (Thanks Jim).

Machine beeps and says I have a penny at 3 inches, bingo a penny at 3 inches. Beeps and says I have a quarter at 4 inches, bingo. Treasure imaging is neat. Pinpointing is is right on; I'm a artifact hunter so I dig some big holes, this was just not fair to the lost coins, dug where it says and darn if it's not right there, exact center of the coil.

3 clad pennies, 1 wheat, 1965 quarter and a nice 1944 quarter.

Not fantastic finds but for the first time out I think I have something to look forward to.

Will now spend some time playing with it to see what it can do in other modes, jewelry, relics, zero, and custom.

all have a good un.............
