New Garretts 500.00 + range vs' olders

I'm thinking hard of buying a new machine

Garrets I own master Hunter ADS III bought in mid 1980's mine
Freedom 3 bought in late 80' wifes

wondering if anybody here has used a Freedom 3 and upgraded ?

The ADS 3 battery hog and heavy to discuss.
