Hello Im the new kid, with a coinmaster 1/DB series 2 that i had for 30 years not really used much just for when I get bored like two days ago found these items with in a 30' radius in a cultivated farm field Eastern N. Carolina, just wondering if they could be Civil War related. The clip is copper with nice patina it looks like it was mounted on pole Axe heads 001.JPGAxe heads 001.JPG

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: North Carolina for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Glad you are here.

 All the statements I make are MY opinion as I'm no expert .1st the copper piece looks maybe as if it were a hook to hang things on :icon_scratch: & As for the ax heads [that are nice] I like to keep all the ones I find [witch are pretty common] as most relic hunters of the past & some now , consider them worthless. Many of them clean up well through whatever iron cleaning process that suites you. Being of the Civil war Era IMO ax heads are like Horseshoes , if dug in a known Camp or Battlefield area they could be CW era but when dug elsewhere the odds are they are NOT CW era. It can be very hard to tell as H shoes & ax heads were common items both before & after the CW. Personally I like to keep each one I dig [ax heads] caouse each one is different & they appeal to me for some reason:dontknow:. So good luck and may your finds be great & plenty. God Bless.
