This has been a good week for me.
1st, earlier this week I meet two guys at Siesta beach that go by the names of Guzz1 and Murph.
Both very helpfull with the questions that I had. Now I can say it is their fault that I took delivery of my Excaliber 2 today. LOL.

Today At Sharky's, I also meet other detectors, also members of this board. RD1 & wife.
And another fella by the name ED. Pleasant folks all. Altogether, There must have been 10 people working the beach on the north side of the pier.

Anyway, Thanks for the patience guys.

Merry Christmas to you and your family...Rdi & wife

I work in Sarasota at the fire dept, and the station that I work at (St Armands station) is getting demolished and now we reside at the Lido Beach Pavillion. I have met John from upstate New York, and he lives down here in the winter, and another guy(cant remember his name) who was a Maryland MHP officer, now retired, and they both were detecting out here at Lido. I have seen John several times, first time we met, he got stung by a stingray-not bad though, as it went through his strap on his sandal. I dont beach hunt much, usually dive, but I do get out and do that in the water and on the shore at the beaches. I sometimes follow the guys at Siesta, they have their units set so they dont get trash or something, but I can walk right behind them and find stuff that they obviously miss. At first I thought it would be wiped out, but now it doesnt bother me to walk around after them. I think they have TRs or VLFs or Minelabs or something that doesnt go deep or sensitive in salt. So if your at Lido, and a firefighter/paramedic walks up, its to say HI! PS, I grew up in Venice, but have lived in Sarasota for 25 years. I never found much good jewelry in Venice, but I have found a lot of money and a bunch of 50 cal machine gun bullets from WW2. Steve in Sarasota.
