earlier my girls wanted to go down the block to the preschool to play on the playground, since I know that the preschool was the hospital when I was a kid I went with to detect, I had to stay within sight of my girls so I could'nt go around to the front, I am hopping to do that tommorow, my camera is being stupid and won't work so I can't post a photo, I found a nickel, 2 pennies (1 pretty rotten), a tag from a Cutlass, a solid rectangle shaped piece of metal that is about 2 fingers wide and about as long as your pinkey and about 1/4 inch thick, and a smooshed yellow screw on bottle cap that says "shoot out 7up" in the middle and "game ends 5-31-93"

You're getting better. Keep it up and you will be out doing all of us.

you did better than me today. I took my 4yr old behind our house to the ditch and let him fish for perch so I could try metal detecting there. Well it didn't work out as well as I hoped.
1-Bait pole
2-cast pole
3-pick up metal detector and turn on
4-put down detector
5-cast pole again
6-pick up detector
then repeat4-6

I did manage to dig one target a chewed up can. Tomorrow if no rain I am going to a park!

it stormed last night so it would probably be a good day to do some detecting but it is supposed to rain all day so I don't know if I will be able to, if I can I think I am going to go to the preschool (old hospital) and look around the side entrance, it used to be the emergency doors.

Way to go! Keep swinging and you'll find the good stuff, like Gold and Silver.

I dig everything except Iron.

That's the way to do it girl. Baby sitting and still getting some hunt time in. Wish I would have thought of that 30 years ago! Good luck at the old hospital next time out.

I did get a chance to get to the old hospital for about 45 minutes, I did 1 long strip between the sidewalk and the road and 1 short strip, I found 2 quarters, 1 was bent ???, 1 dime, 1 nickel, 3 pennies and a button.

A bent quarter spends just like an unbent one :) Sounds like a good start ! I have a habit of only finding a dime and a penny on three hunts !! I did find a quarter and a wheat penny not long ago ;D I'm moving up !!! Keep up the hunt , save the clad it adds up ;D

I went back over to the old hospital with the girls again and looked around the yard and there was nothing, no coins or nails or pop tops, not 1 beep, I have lived here all my life and I have never seen anyone else detecting around here, it's wierd that there was nothing, anyways I went and looked along the strip and found a nickel, tommorow I am gona look around the emergency entrance again and if I have time around the entrance of the old folks home across the street. Sorry if I posted this twice I thought I wrote it out before but I could'nt find it.
