Found these at the old Lincoln academy. Two buttons and my first Barber dime. Does anyone know anything about the buttons? Also found that other stuff at the same place.
OK!! I think you need help. I would like to volunteer my services. Well second thought your just a few thousand miles too far for me. Nice finds that barber would sure look nice in my collection. HH Burdie
The place opened in 1888 and closed in 1922 and there are eight large foundations deep in the woods. I hunted what was the front yard of one of them and found this stuff plus about 10 wheats.
Nice finds and congrats on the silver! The thing with a hole in it is a hem weight, used to weigh down a woman's dress. Very nice sight to hunt and should keep you busy for awhile! HH, Mike
Nice finds , try to imagine the lay of the land before it grew up .Look for a place where the students would of gathered or had sporting events . Old pictures are a great help from old yearbooks especially. Old newspaper archives are a good source also. It pays to research a good site like that. I used to hunt the West Virginia University campus around the old dorm buildings but they run me off after about three years . Good Luck
Seems I remember an earlier post by you about this place . At the time I thought how neet a location to hunt. Congrats on the latest finds and please keep posting . Very interesting!
