New field didn't dissapoint!!

Hello all,

I tried a new farm today in an area i know is very old!

Didn't get off to a very good start as i wound up on the wrong field and got thrown off by an irate tractor driver :o

Once i got on the correct field i started finding stuff straight away! I must have started in the right place as the finds were confined to a small corner of a large field!

I need some help with i'ds on a few bits as i wasn't with Cru at the time and i'm stumped as to age and that :-\

The hammered coin is a Henry 111 penny, i know that ;D

Heres my stuff!

Re: New field didn't dissapoint!!

Looks like the makings of a good field shaun

there's a few old lead weights I see, and something in the last picture at the top :icon_scratch:

looks like it had a pin or something attached :icon_scratch: a nice lead seal there also

Good Finds,

SS.

Re: New field didn't dissapoint!!

The key thing, looks like a Lozenge shaped Casket Key top, the Buckle looks Post Medieval,

you will have to clean Bugs bunnies ears a bit and let me have another look :D

I've straightened it a bit! I don't mind it looking like that at over 600 years ;D

It's my first local hammered and my biggest!

Think so :icon_scratch:

Re: New field didn't dissapoint!!

Nice one Shaun good hammered. The long thing with the loop on it "could" be a key. Show us a better picture of it. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft:

key :-\
Does look like a key shaun, latch or barrel lock key. The hammered was good but this beats it for me. :notworthy:

looks like it's a Medieval barrel lock key Shaun. they had a long period of use from about 10th-13th century, give or take a century. A very nice find, google medieval barrel lock key and see if you can get some definate info. Best find i've seen you post, keep up the good work. :icon_thumright:
