Got a new machine, been practicing around the house and it’s unbelievable the stuff I’m pulling out of places I’ve been over 100 times. Found one of the top coins I’ve ever found 10 yards from the corner of my house, near where the outhouse used to sit. I’ve went out 4 times and came back with a coin or two every time which is great considering I’ve ran coin shooting programs over the yard with three different machines before this one.

Maybe some kind of fragrance?

And a sales tax token from a state 350 miles away… if I’m not mistaken on the dimensions of Kansas.

I think the Garett 400 was a great machine and was always happy with it but so far the deus 2 blows it out of the water.

That's what I really like is a post about a new machine in a hard hit site.
When a person can get a keeper again and again it proves the machine is performing.

Congratulations on the recoveries with the D2.
Go over a section till you think it's done.
Then try this program.

I have a few site that woke up again using it.
A bit tricky, but it pulls even more out.
(I should say the program is suited for iron patches)

Those targets would give strong response with most machines if they were within range, I think. I know my old Cibola would detect them. Maybe they were so deep that your other machines couldn't reach them (and if so my Cibola couldn't either). Or is there some other factor that caused them to be missed until the Dues? I'd be really interested to know because I may be missing some factor using my Cibola.

I've always wondered this too. Recently, I've begun to think my swing is too fast. At my 1850's school permission, it wasn't till I slowed down drastically, that I began to find older coins. But that site is loaded with iron which would require a much slower swing.

With the Deus 2, some of the programs available can make the difference. Tekkna is incredible as well as the sniper program I've been using for silver.

When you have a site that has been detected "clean" with one machine.

Then another machine sneaks out a few more finds.
Repeat again.
Then the Deus 1 comes along and it's like a new site.

Then the Deus 2 comes along and it makes a person smile once again.
Order of what machines.

Explorer-Etrac-CTX3030-Deus I-Deus 2-Finally the Techna program.

Between the Etrac and D1 it was how did I miss so many Large copper, Dandy buttons?

Conclusion is you don't know what you missed until you try the next machine.

It could also just be because it's a new machine. With the old "comfortable" one, you already think you know all the sounds so you ignore things that you don't think are worth the dig. But with the new one, it's new and different, so you listen closer, and you dig more. So you might find more even if it isn't any "better" than the old machine.

It might be that, but I knew my other machines pretty good.
Well over the 1000 hour on them before passing on target type of learning.
I operated all the previous Minelabs & Deus 1 with zero discrimination. I heard everything. So I thought I really cleared out the sites.

I think it has much better separation, I pulled 5 nails out of the same hole as the bell. I was listening and watching for the high tones popping through the iron

I’ll have to try it, I added one called jethro, it definitely found plenty but it was obnoxiously noisy, not sure if I missed a setting or not good for my yard, tried a ground balance and a frequency scan, the only time it seemed to quiet down to one tone was when it was on a solid target

Nice finds :) Great replies by all !

I have a recent large permission.
He told me where there was a homestead site.
2 Solar panels were located on the site.
Forget detecting there.
The EMI was crazy.
Maybe after dark it might work.

Where could I find the Jethro settings?

When I was watching YouTube videos on how to use the programs I wound up watching a guy called the Scottish detectorist he posted it in one of his videos
New JETHRO PROGRAMME on XP DEUS 2.0 | The Best Yet?
Tried a link but said something about it being blocked from being played on other sites

That’s a nice Denver Barber quarter. 1906 was the first yr of the Denver mint in their new building on W Colfax. It’s still there today.
I have a barber dime that I found in a farm field, it has been hit by chemicals pretty hard, this one being up by my house came out of the ground just like that, rinsed the dirt off under the sink pat it dry and that’s how it looked… gotta love silver, havent found any gold yet.
