I used a Fisher F4 for the better part of 2014. It is similar to the BH 3300. I am a coin shooter and normally discriminated all but dimes on up and would noramlly notch out for nickles. The hardest thing for me to master was to manually ground balance.
I believe you will enjoy the BH 3300. One of the features that pushed me towards the Fisher F4 was the choice of search coils. Both the 3300 and F4 have a fast recovery time. Make sure to cover the control housing with plastic if you detect in the rain.
Yeah im pretty happy with it so far. I decided to stay with the BH line because i did have some good luck with the 1100. The pin pointer works good and the discrimination is pretty impressive. I tossed a handful of clad into my yard just to see how it worked and it was spot on. So now its time to do some local seaches and hopefully some good things will show up. Thanks and happy hunting

The BH Discovery 3300 is a good metal detector and does 8-9 inches easily on a quarter. I have seen someone here in South FL using it with a magnum coil at beach (dry sand) with very good success.
