Posting this because I'm going stir crazy waiting for spring to detect a new good spot. I went for a hike in the woods were I spotted a stone wall recently and found a very promising spot. I followed the stone wall and it went around a huge long abandoned property. It had tall trees and the detecting looked good and easy all around most of the property. The trees actually helped because it kept the bushes and alders from filling in the area. It looked like the whole thing was a worked field at one time and old apple trees were still spread out around a bit. The best part is I came across a big stone foundation that looked like it had been well built and very old. Now I just need the snow to melt and spring to come. I also know that it's not private property and I'm free to detect!
These pictures don't do the foundation justice and would have got more photos of the whole property but my phone died.

I would spend some time around that big tree. Big trees almost seem to be hiding at least one good find. Looks like a great spot

I wish I would have got more photos of the woods and stone walls. A old local when I asked said it was one of the original settlement homesteads in the area! (:

Looks great, need any help? Ha lol. Nova Scotia might be a great summer vacation for me.

I found a old site too...was an old hotel built back in the early 1900's...it had many visitors from the US before the first world war...chomping at the bit to get at it.
Got to wait for the snow and frost to leave....

That's the only plus side of winter. Preping for the spring. Haha I also like that you can see places so easy with the leaves and grass gone.

You would have fun traveling around and find many places to detect on the side visiting Nova Scotia.
