One of my hunting buddies and I went back to a spot where we'd had success before. We had a bit of rain in the last few days and figured that might help a bit with more depth and less hard ground. Regardless of reason, I had a decent day for our area. It's been quite a while since I found a Barber coin locally. It's a bit pitted, but, cleaned up fairly good. It's a 1911S which isn't rare, but, not super common either. Add 6 wheats and a cool old padlock (that cleaned up nice) to the tally and I was a happy treasure hunter.

Congratulations on your beautiful recoveries

Congrats on the Barber. I like the pad lock!

The Barber Dime is a nice find, but the padlock is the star of your hunt! :hello2:

Awesome padlock. Love it

Great finds !
I found the exact same Padlock 10 years ago - yours is in much nicer condition !
Did you find any info on your lock? When I try to google Pearl padlock, I get nothing but jewelry ads, except for one site that attributed the lock to a Japanese company. Any idea on age?

Hi - Sorry no , I couldn't find any history on the Pearl Padlocks.

I found a little. Made by Safe Padlock Company. There was a company in the 20's called Safe Padlock and Hardware Company in Lancaster Pa. Still listed as active. Found sold listing of their catalog #18, from 1922. No further info. Incorporated 1928. I am not certain they are the same, but found Safe padlocks that look similar. All I've got.

I searched online for about 20 minutes yesterday for info on your lock as well. Kudos to Kray for finding what he did, because I struck out. Years ago, I used to collect early padlocks, so your find was very interesting to me Mark.
