New Creek Success

I needed a change in scenery and decided to scout a new creek yesterday. I found several chalcedony and quartz flakes, as well as a possible scraper. At the end of the day a small piece of quartz caught my eye and it turned out to be a nice Savannah river, but unfortunately the tip was broken. Such a bummer, but still thankful to find it. Also pictured is another possible broke. I’ll definitely be back there after this rain.

That’s because you are used to seeing the ones I find lol. Up north the quality is much higher than what we have in this part of Georgia.

Yes I think that’s what it is. The bottom side isn’t worked at all.

Yes the little Savanah river is very well made. It is rare that I find quartz that you can actually see the flaking on. some of the quartz points are quite rough.

It’s a little chalcedony morrow mountain. It’s my favorite point that I have found. It looks

to have a small tip ding but the tip actually appears intentionally worked.

Yes I think that’s what it is. The bottom side isn’t worked at all.

Unifaced is the term. If one side on the edge is dull it could also be a backed knife
