Got permission sunday afternoon for a new site close to where I have recovered many colonial and civil war artifacts the last couple years. After a chat with the landowners who were very nice and it turned out they new both of my parents from years ago I headed to the spot. Spent about an hour there Sunday afternoon mainly walking the site but after turning the machine on i quickly recovered several buttons and a 1773 VA Half Penny. This afternoon i managed to get out of work around 2 and headed for the site and was in action by 3, this site is turning out quite a number of targets, lots of melted lead and small brass frags, but i managed to turn out another colonial coin with the worn 1773 Half Reale, a number of flat buttons, broken up decorative pieces and shoe buckle parts, my favorite find was probably the little decorative brass leaf. I plan to make another trip there tomorrow afternoon. And still have to find time to go back to the landowners actual house and hunt there since it is a period home as well.
