Why, with all the great American detector companies out there, and the fact they all have great low-priced starter machines, would you worry about dealing with some uknown company? I would bet it's some cheapo Chinese-made unit.

Hi Jim,
I was thinking the same thing, made in China that is, but I could not easily find a sticker on it to indicate where it was made so I wanted to ask about it in case I had missed something good. I would just as soon work with a known and trusted company myself And keep it made in the U.S./bought in the U.S. There are far too many U.S. business's that have their products made OUT of the U.S. and then brought back in, like Lodge cast iron pots I was shocked when I saw the tiny notice on the box Made In China! Thank you for the manufacturing origin on the EFX. It amazes me that metal detecting has grown so big that Costco is carrying them, too bad it is not a U.S. made machine!!.........63bkpkr

Aaaahhh hec k, I shouldn't have posted what I did. you asked a simple question, and I should have either answered it if I knew the answer, or ignored it. I apologize. In any case, I think it's probably password-protected because you have to be a member to shop at Costco.

Thanks Jim no harm done and I've been known to say something out of sorts myself so all of us should relax so as not to upset ourselves. I've enjoyed my Whites detectors and would not purchase a Chinese one as it just does not seem right to ignore our own countries products especially in times like we are having. The site that would not let me in was the manufacturers and I did not feel like setting myself up for yet more spam so I passed on signing up.

I've been in Idaho, pretty green country, also the home of Pat McManus and his crazy/zany stories - he's given me many a laugh. Some day I'd like to head back into your state and explore it a bit more as I only drove through a small portion of it, I think I turned around somewhere around White Fish. Thanks for being a good man.......63bkpkr

GroundEFX

The Ground EFX can be located at www.groundefx.com it is a PLANO SYNERGY HOLDINGS, INC. BRAND. Check the web site for additional info. I have not seen or tested one of these.

This is an old thread. But to update:

Plano Synergy is out of Plano, IL. They are a company that has bought many other smaller companies of equipment for outdoors sportsmanship. I believe the detectors are made in the US. The EFX Swarm brand can also be purchased at KellyCo as Treasure Commander (the Duck Dynasty detectors). I don't think DD would want their name on Chinese junk. I heard they are pretty good detectors, but very heavy with all the gun style ergonomics.
