Re: New Book!: "Shallow Water Metal Detecting: Lessons from the Pros"

Clive's books are excellent, I've done some good beach hunting with the Excalibur since I've read his books (and I still re read them) I was missing a lot before that. The new pulse books are just as good and have made a big difference from when I had an Infinium and sold it. Now I've purchased the pulse books and a Dual Field and it all makes sense. My only problem is I worked in loud environments most of my life and and just can't hear like I should. Excellent books, good job Clive.

Thanks for your feedback. I just got a pair of custom phones made by my pal "Mr. Goldmaster" that feature "Peltor" industrial ear protectors for the ear cups. Very nice for id'ing targets as well. These are very nice on the Excal and I'm awaiting a set specifically made for the DF. The sound is excellent and ambient noise is greatly reduced. They might be what you are after.

Clive,

Thanks for the info. I realy can't afford a set right now but I just committed to a set on another forum. I have decided to sell the Dual Field and just concentrate on the Excalibur and my Vision that was just upgraded. I thought I had the DF figured out, at least with my test sticks. With the sticks upside down, I could tell the difference between the good stuff and the junk. On the beach, it just wasn't the same.

Regards,
Ron
