Hi all...
Ok so I've looked at mining claims for sale.. Currently looking in Arizona. And I'm just not getting warm fuzzies... So I've been downloading and looking at maps BLM, Land Matters, researching researching and more researching.... What I want to know is if you locate a closed blm mining claim, do you have to put feet on the ground? Can you do all the paperwork from home.. I live in Missouri,, but want a claim in Arizona.. for vacations and when I retire (still 13 years out lol) can you use the marker locations from the previous information and submit the needed documentation to obtain the claim in your name? is there a process to just reassume a defaulted claim? Am I thinking all this is alot harder than it really is?

Here's a question for you -- How do you know if someone has not already located this
spot with a stake in the ground and filed with the county recorder - once that's done
he or she has 90 days to file with the BLM.

I'm no expert but I think you need to put your boots on.
Cheers Mike

No, you can't do the paperwork from home in Arizona... You have to locate it yourself to make it legal.
