Today I was able to take my first "real" trip out to do a little detecting. I only had roughly an hour but had a ton of fun.
To give a little background, I live in Maryland and received permission to hunt around the fields of a church with a sign that reads circa 1873. I was a little excited to get permission there.
During my hour out, I found several nails, a pull tab, something that looks like an old bottle cap (I have not cleaned it up yet) and a button. I am guessing that it is silver as it was shining in the dirt about 4 or 5 inches in the ground. It is rather small with a design and a letter T. Now i hate to admit to this but while i was cleaning the dirt out of the bottom the loop popped off, true noob mistake. I can not wait to get back out there!!
