Relic Hunting
I just had to get out today and tried one of our hunted out CS camps. There has been some good relics come out of this small camp, but we have hit it hard and it is almost impossible to get a good signal out of it anymore, or so I thought. I was hunting one of the hut sites digging iron and thought I had another iron signal when I see this sticking out of the side of the hole. I never expected a Memphis CS spur to still be hiding in the hut but must have been masked by all the iron. Checked to see if it was marked and was a little disappointed that it didn't have the magic letters but was still one happy camper. Had to stop hunting and call my brother. He couldn't believe that it was missed after all the years we have vacuumed this camp. The rest of the day was slow going which is exactly what I was expecting. Here are some pictures of it fresh out the ground and after I got home and cleaned it. Also the rest of my finds. Thanks for looking and good luck if you get out. Watch out for all the deer hunters as they were everywhere today. James

Nicely done! Way to stick with it.

All the best,

Congrats on an awesome find James. I don't believe any site is ever hunted out either.

I had the same thing happen to me about a year ago. I guess you just never know. Looks like a nice spur though! Don't see too many of those raking spurs! Congrats!

Sometimes the best finds are the last ones to come out of a place. WTG James, persistance pays off

Nice find. I found a spur and it was right on top of the ground. My guess is someone else dug it and considered it trash, not me!
