Never thought it would be so hard to buy a V3i

In the past I've purchased all of my detectors through KellyCo, but I was having a hard time getting anyone to respond to my emails. I don't like the option of not being able to purchase it online. You have to send in a request for a quote and then they email you 4 days later. You call the number and no one picks up so you leave a voice mail. Then they don't call you back so you send in another email and wait. So I decided to go through White's directly. They have listed on their site "More Ways to Buy" - so I call them. I called the number they have posted on the site and a woman answers and I tell I want to buy a V3i, she had no idea why I was calling them directly. She transferred me to Jack who said they only sell wholesale to dealers. I went to White's online and the price was almost $200 higher. So, I started this whole process a week ago and I'm still without a V3i. I'm watching a couple on Ebay that I'm hoping pan through.

I ordered my detector through detectordepot.com and it was at my door in 3 days. Can't beat that, I'll not order from KellyCo again.

I think buying from a dealer is probably your best bet if there's a good one in your area.

Doesn't look like Detector Depot sells White's.

There's a White's dealer in CT (Millford I think) - they gave me a great deal on a Coinmaster GT - had it in two days.

I bot a white's right from a dealer walked in laid down 850.00 on the counter walked out 15 minuets later with a mxt nth-n faster than that

I had a the same troubles with Kellyco, had to e-mail them twice, then I finally got a call. So, it is possible to get them to answer, the woman said its partially due to tax refund season, popularity of Savage family/American diggers, blah, blah. I am a firm believer, that when possible, buy local, help your area out, your community where you live. I do not seem to have one that is still up and running in my area. The white's web site has a "find a local dealer" option on it, however, it may be a day late and dollar short (it was for me). :laughing7: Good luck!

You could try New England detectors although I've called them and had them not call me back as well. I personally bought my V3i locally although I did price them on the internet first to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off.

I had the same trouble with New England Detectors (answering service). They promptly responded to my email and shipped my Coinmaster the same day. I received the package on the following day.

White's of Mid Atlantic answers their own phone and ships the same day if you order early enough. However, they do not budge on price. Though I did get them to throw in a free coil cover. Nice, friendly people, none the less. 1-717-564-6690

I thought I just saw a posting on a certain Alaska Forum owned by Steve Herschbach who has just posted a V3i for sale.

Did you get your V3i yet? Shouldnt be a problem to order directly from Whites. Might be a dealer near you too.

*** Update *** So I decided to slap my wallet on the counter of my local whites dealer. Went over during lunch, just to see a sign on the door, Stating be back April 4th or something like that. OOOOF there went the wind in my sails. So.............Opted to call Kellyco.....................Said would you like to full fill your order, why yes, yes I would, Only they did not have the bullseye II I wanted, so I said what about the garret pin pointer, also on back order, so.......what do you have? How about a mine lab...............sweat beads about now.......not familiar with the pin pointer from minelab. Let me tell you, its is bloody cool, (I am a whites guy, and this pains me to say but dag, its very cool, had to swap out one other piece, also out of the garret diggers, also on back order. So, out of the 10 items on my list, they had 2 on back order. Over all, they were very much attentive to my wants and needs. Dispite the couple of issues, I feel they redeemed themselves with me, for what its worth. Moral of the story, I do have my Spectra V3I, and a 12 x10 inch Double elliptical and DD 4 x 6 inch loops, extra rods, and I AM READY FOR DIRT!

Ok, thought you might have meant a 5.3 for a moment. I mostly use my 6x10 and the 4x6 when its bad. The 4x6 takes some getting used to, that's for sure.

You are right about that, whole other animal!
