"Never Rust" thingamajig

So I found this today on a short hunt at the same location I found these "what is its"

http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,122623.0.html

I can't even begin to guess if they are related in functionallity or age. The only text I can find is on the long straight piece. It says "Never Rust".

Thanks for looking.

Re: "Never Rust" thingamajig

Cool thanks, sure would appear to be that to me. I honestly know very little (ok ok nothing) about horses so I had to google that word.

Here is a picture of the area circa 1900. The photo is taken right where I have permission to hunt. Maybe the snaffle was from one of these very horses. ;) The buildings in the picture are now the "historic" district and off limits. All I can do is drool.

Its the edge of the bit that would be in the horses mouth. The large loop is next to the mouth while the shorter post is actualy half of the bit itself with the little loop on the end. 8) 8)

The bit you have is most likely from the CW depending on where your from but id get it checked to be sure

Half Cheek Snaffle Bit...

There is NO way you will tell the age, but can make some educated guesses...

Madmardigan.

I think these guys are pulling your leg. I searched all over and there is no such thing as a Green Horse.

The only green horse I found was a sculpture and I see no reason for your (what these guys call a snaffle) item to be used.

I'll see if I can accurately identify your find. Be patient.

Tony

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!
