Went to my favorite honey hole yesterday and the volleyball court there produced the 20 Cent Euro coin and later on the cheap ring. I'm surprised at the detail and look of the Euro coin. Even the edge has big far apart grooves all around it. Not exactly a common clad find for me. The Bi-Centennial quarter from '76 which lost a battle with a lawn mower at some point is included for a size comparison. It was a much tougher dig because the "soil" i found it in looked normal, but under the surface was all rocks and cochina shells. Needless to say it wasn't very deep yet it looks like it was under ground for every minute of the last 42 years. All and all it was a fun day out in the sun.

The United States Mint produced a Silver 20 Cent coin from 1875 to 1878. When I saw the title of your post, that is what I thought you found.
Congrats on your Euro.

You need to be quick to dig euro clad. They nearly start rusting away in your purse. :tongue3:
