I went down to my local beach on Thurs. and once I got there, realized I had left my battery pack charging back at the office. Also, there were three guys detecting the same spot I wanted to work, so I got discouraged. Something made me go back on Fri. and oddly, I had the whole beach to myself. Towards the end of a 2.5 hour search, my right shoulder was sore, so I switched to 'swingin lefty'. My lefty form is kind of sloppy, but apparently good enough. Within five minutes I pulled this nice band out of the wet sand! I haven't weighed it, but it's pretty heavy!

The next day I returned for a couple of hours at low tide with my daughter, who rode her bike up and down the beach and did the scoop work for me whenever I got a signal. We only managed one hoop earring, but oddly enough, it matches EXACTLY the hoop earring I found in this same spot two weeks ago! What are the odds? Happy hunting. - Jim

The odds are not in your favor but you've shown it's still possible!

Nice ring..it's nice to have access to the beach..I'm sure there's more rings and other nice jewelry to follow.

Welcome to TNet by the way :)

Left, right, or down the middle. I'd swing whatever way it would take to find a nice ring.

Yeap, I heard you like nice rings ::) ;)

Jim,

As you say, never give in, always more to find :)
