Found this behind a big catholic church the other day. It's on a hinge so it flips back and forth. It's about 4" tall and 2" wide. Curiosity is getting the best of me. its not for dowsing out candles is it? mounted on a shaft?:icon_scratch:

Well, i thought that as it is blackened on the back side but that would be one really tiny shaft. The clamp part of it is onlt 1/2" in diameter and is expandable to about 3/4". All that being said, i'm not ruling out that it was used for putting out a candle. Thank you BVI.

Most candle snuffers would be bell shaped, but I think it is candle related and mounts to a candle holder. Not really sure on that though...
