What is this ??Of course it is a Buffalo nickel . But when is the last time any one has received one as change at a convenience store ?.It is a 1936 .If you reversed the last two numbers to 63 my age would be older than that . I do not ever remember getting any coin that is that old as part of change . How about anyone else . What is that oldest coin you ever got when someone handed change to you?View attachment IMG_0506.jpg IMG_0507 (1).JPG

Sounds like some child got into Dads collection and went to the store.
I bet the cashier had a few more old coins in the drawer.

Usually the date is worn off but not on that coin which proves it has been out of circulation for many years.

Sometimes I will pay with Buffalo or V nickles and Indians just to keep the hobbie interesting and maybe get somebody interested in collecting, THanks for your enthusiasm...

How cool is that! The oldest I got in recent years was a 1941 quarter. More common are wheat pennies and circa 1950s nickels.

We had a person tip with 2 dollar bills a few times, they were older, circulated ones. I think you can still request them but still fun to get

All of you make good observations .And it was a nice little surprise to keep my interest up to at least look .I have a few old coins but am by no means a collector . I hope that that coin did not get back into circulation due any financial hardship created by the current virus situation the people of this country are dealing with
