I dug this button at a plantation in west central Mississippi that was built in 1825 and occupied until 1975, so there's a lot of history that has fallen on the ground here. I don't know how old this button is but it appears to be a navy. It has a fouled anchor with horizontal lines in the background. This button looks to have been exposed to a fire. I spent a lot of time getting it to the point where you can see this much of it. It ain't pretty but it may be kinda old. The back is still like concrete but this button MAY have been a one piece convex. I can't say for certain. Can anyone look at this and provide any details about how old it might be? Thanks for any help.

It just occurred to me that it might not even be a U.S. button, maybe English or French, etc.....I'm looking through internet, books, etc. and just can't find a match for this one. But it can't be the only one ever made....LOL.
