Needhelp with ID'ing

Hello I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I mess up.
I would like help with finding out what this item is. I assumed it was a civil war button but cannot find anything (not sure where or how to look).

My guess would be a more modern cufflink with no relation to the Civil War.

More info:
The button is a capped button is 9/16" in diameter non magnetic looks to be brass and has no identifiable marks or inscriptions. I only assumed a civil war button as it was in with a picture of relative in civil war uniform.

Probably a WW2 or post era military cuff link not civil war
