Hello all.

First let me apologize for having to ask this. I realize there is a wealth of information already on the web about these buttons, but there are so many varieties and minor differences I'd just like to be sure.

I'm pretty sure the coat button is a late 1800's/early 1900's Marine button. Please let me know if that is incorrect.

The little cuff button appears to have the exact same design on the front but I can't make out anything on the back mark. I know there is not much to go on, but any help would be appreciates. I have included several angles of the back of the cuff button just in case it helps to ID the back mark. Does the green mean it has some copper in it?

Thanks in advance.

Wish I knew more on old buttons. All I can say is they look pretty old and hopefully one or two of those buttonier aficionado's will make they're way on by.

They are indeed US Marine Corps uniform buttons... and the "black finish" on them (intended as combat camouflage) means they were manufactured from the World War One era through 1923. The US Military got "downsized" majorly after that war ended, so your buttons are most likely to have been manufactured during the war.
