I 'v seen people  using  the  at  the  beach Now  and  then finding coins , You  get  what  you  pay  for  keep  that  in  mind.. And don't Skemp on a good Beach Scoop, very important ..Just as much as the detector you choose ....
If  your  serious  about  the  Hobby  ,  stick  to  the  named  brands  Minelab  whites  Garret  fisher  tesoro. Don't  do  Like  I  did  ,,,,,,I  went  through three  detectors  before  I  found  the  right  one's  for  me  and  lost  money in the  process  I  own  excal.. Sandshark and a Cz 20, All  high  end mds  .. you  can find  high end  used  MDs  in  your  budget  if  you  look  around ,,, good  luck  on  your  search..HH  guzz1

There are always high quality used detectors for sale on the board. Heck I have bought 7 used detectors myself. 2 MineLab Excals 1000, a Whites 6000 XL PRO, a MineLab Sov GT (Waterproofed), a Tesoro Conquistador, a Troy X2 Shadow, and a Fisher 1235X.. Every one of them arrived working perfectly as they should.....

I sold one of the Excals already for $75 less then what I paid for it and the gentleman I sold it to still got a good deal. I am going to sale the Tesoro Conquistador, probably the Troy X2, and the New Garrett Ace 150 I won at the GSBSO.....

My waterproofed Sov GT snagged a nice mans wedding band tonight at Daytona Beach. Looks to have diamonds around the ring in the center. I will post it tomorrow with pictures.

I HAVE GOT TO BUY MY OWN DIAMOND TESTER!

I have the gold earring and now this ring that both need diamond testing. I had to borrow one last year 3 different times to test rings for diamonds, and those were all real.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I'm only going to be using it a couple times a year and only in fresh water no deeper than maybe four feet.
I have a couple good land machines and just wanted something to hit a couple swiming areas like one at a state park I go to on vacation .
