need some info

Myself and a friend are looking for a place to go to look for gems, We live in central wisconsin and would like a place within 10 hours or so.
We are both new to gem hunting and any leads or help would be appreciated.

Well,cornfed,you should start by checking in your immediate area first.I suppose there is a lot of glacial gravel in your area.
