Need some help

I found this last week near a Texas camp along with a pistol bullet, picket bullet and a pack hook. Does anybody know if this might be a Texas hat pin. On the back there look like a spot were a attachment device might have went. Thanks

i think Jimmileo hit it on the head it does sorta look like that, notice each corner has 6 indentations, if you find a pic of another one its should have these dots also, other wise its another whole ball of wax
