Need some help with this fork...has some markings

Found beside this horseshoe... Very red patina and some nice markings on the fork... Possible to age?

i can't decipher the little mark, but the letters EPNS stand for electroplated nickel silver. it would have been an inexpensive alternative to sterling flatware. the style is reminiscent of 1940s era flatware designs, somewhat influenced by art deco.
