So today i went to a house built in 1906 didnt find a darn thing but a 1973 dime... Whenever i go to older homes i seem to get nothing but low tone trash signals everywhere is this normal? And how do i work around all the trash and find silver & coins. I use a Garrett AT Pro if anyones wondering. I just find a old house and get excited but then only find trash and crap signals EVERYWHERE.....

Some detectors work a WHOLE lot better in high trash and iron areas than others. I don't know about the AT. But, if you have to just use what ya brung....definitely try a smaller coil. It will help you pick out the good targets better from amongst all the trash. Good luck.....many old home sites are covered in iron trash.

I agree a small sniper coil can assist. It's amazing at how many sites you find (are virgin to you) have been detected in the past. It is a promising site if it as trashy as you say. Check if any trees or shrubs have been removed in the past few years. I often find keepers that were not reachable in the past.
