Haven't posted for awhile but took some time yesterday to return to an old site that I've searched many times in the past. It continues to produce random iron, pennies, etc but I did find what appears to be one-half of a colonial spanish reale. It's time-period correct for this site but it almost seems too perfect. Very minimal wear for a 200+ year old coin. I've attached the initial pics. Any thoughts from those more versed than I?

UPDATE: This is what is/was known as a "pistareen" Minted in Spain for domestic use as the silver content was not the same as the reales used in international trade at the time. Despite the fact that they were for homegrown use only, thousands were imported to "the colonies" mainly through Virginia and central atlantic region. They were commonly cut to make change; halves and quarters. This one is probably minted in about 1721 as that's when the great majority of these were produced. Anyway, this is probably my oldest find. Way cool.

My buddy found one just like it.You could still see partial date 25 .Definitely 1725 , pretty find congrats
