I would prefer the 5x8" Coil just for the maneuverability under water. Best of luck!

Unless I already know what I'm getting into I pack them all.

I agree, you'd hate to get out there with the 5x8 only and have signals few and far between with no option to spread out a bit. If it's really trashy and you have your largest coil could be an early day as well.

Good luck!

I going detecting tomorrow using my ATP. I'll be snorkeling so souls I use my Attack, stock or my "5x8" coil?

Yes...

Thank you guys. It was lightening today so might be tomorrow not sure. Rain has been running havoc on us down here. I'm gonna them all no matter what but the storm is better because of size, but then the "drag" through the water is going to be realistically a pain. The 5"x8" I think for my liking is going to be to small to make me believe I'm maximizing my time and effort. I'm thinking the stock coil might be my best bet. But as with anything I'll play it buy ear. All my equipment never leaves my truck. Thanks again guys.

Any Chance of Finding Spanish Gold Down there? :headband: So exciting. I have always dreamed of underwater expeditions but I am horribly allergic to water. (seriously bad eardrums)

Careful the temps don't wreck the detector.

i have the at gold used the big coil last time water hunt , north texas lakes are muddy and murky right now, had a hard time retrieving target will use 5 x 8 tomorrow

Very good chance I'd say in Louisiana. The very lake I'm talking about I researched where they used to bring Oxen and liquor across the lake from New Orleans. I found out where they used to drop off everything and I metal detected a sidewalk strip on that street ( the only sidewalk strip) and I found a 1829 Spanish Mexican 8 Reales.

like the mailman - neither rain...nor sleet..nor snow ..(nor lightning) will stay me from
my TH'ing duties - Ive hunted in hurricanes and blizzards and lightning storms
but all in the water - during lightning I make sure my snorkel is only thing sticking out
