Need program for enhancement!

There are many programs to do what you want to do. My favorite is Adobe Photoshop Elements. Probably one of the best for the price.

I also started editing photos a few months ago. There are several good photo editing programs but I use Image Photo. I find it very useful and well explained. You can download easily from http://www.imagic-photo.com/download.html. You should download and read their tutorials. This should get you on the right path.

Irfanview is definitely the best free program I've found...I normally use Photoshop, but you can't beat the quickness of Irfanview. You can use Photoshop plugins with it as well.

I'd also play around with your camera if your images are looking "flat"...maybe use "portrait mode" for a change in aperture value, to add more depth.
