I have a hunting spot that I wanted to get opinions on. My spot is, or was, a small field, located on a main road, in between an apartment complex and some houses. It is literally a 5 minute walk from my front door. They are planning to build 3 or 4 new houses on the field, and early last week, the heavy equipment came in and leveled it, removing something like the top 12"-16" of soil. Now, since the city of Warwick dates back to 1642, and being close to the original settlements of Pawtuxet and Conimicut, I'm thinking OLD. I figure the the topsoil they carted off must have contained most of the clad, some older stuff, and ALL of the modern trash in this spot. I want to hit it hard, in all metal mode, and dig everything, in hopes that the heavy equipment got me a lot closer the the ooooold stuff than I could normally hope for. I do not know what, if anything was on this spot in the past, but I am attempting to research it. I'm hoping to get over there tommorow afternoon to start hunting it.
What do you more experienced hunters think of a spot like this?
