Well I have begun a bit of detecting. I began in the backyard and mostly found junk- screw and nails.

I did find something on the surface it isn't anything special, I am mainly unsure what it could have been used for. It looks like a small knob, or some type of knob. Let me see if I can get a picture up.

This is view showing the bottom, where you can see hopefully that it has a black plastic piece attached to the bottom.

This is a top view of it.

I am merely wondering what it was and could have been used for, as? Looks like a type of nail/knob.

Next photo is a photo of a metal tag I found street sweeping, I switched to street sweeping with the detector as the backyard is basically empty of metal nails and screws now and proved not too fruitful other than to clean up the junk. I realize it is a metal tag, could be a net tag but I am unsure of what that is or what type of tag it is, I know it is a tag but am wondering about the writing on it which reads Net & T Co. I do not know anything of the label/company was wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

Here is the photo.

Thanks. Any answers appreciated.

I realize neither of these things are old, neither are great finds, but I would like to know what they are, the reason I have started metal detecting is for the adventure after all, and to learn.

The street sweep didn't turn up any jewelry or coinage (hopefully one day), but I did pick up the metal junk I found on the street in the area, cleaning up the environment, and helping to make the street safer for young ones and pets- people like to leave smashed glass around here. :BangHead:

I’m not sure but the first picture with the round piece looks like the bottom of a leg to a desk or part of the bottom off an appliance. They are used to level the appliance. That’s my best guess.

Thanks. Yes that seems a reasonable use. My plan is if I can take care of much of that rust on it there to re-purpose it and use it for its intended purpose so it doesn't just end up in the waste basket and essentially back where it was found- laying on the open ground- not in use, there as a testament to the litter around throughout the years.
