Hi,

I am new to the site so if I put this in the wrong place I'm sorry.

My wife was cleaning a room in her Grandfathers house and found this in a box of old stuff.

It is a bell that rings when you turn the dial type things on the sides.

I can't find any writing or markings on it anywhere.

Any info on it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum Kenny! It looks like a pretty cool item, but I don't have a clue...maybe you could get some bigger pics that show the sides, etc.

What a beautiful bell...it looks like it could have came from a hotel...any history or where was the grandfather from??? I will look and see what I can find, but without a identification mark...I can only get close...its very unique tho....nice keepsake.

Thanks for the posts.

My wifes grandfather thinks it was his Moms. He was born in 1927. He was lived in Jay NY his whole life. Which is 15 minutes from Lake Placid. His family has lived there for many generations. I have no other info on the bell But I'll see hwat I can find out.

Thanks again

Kenny

I sent the pic off to a couple of friends to see if they could help...hopefully we will find out something for you...You know it almost looks Bavarian in style...very beautiful and unique in design...so I am guessing you havea real treasure here.....Nice Find !

A gorgeous accessory to anyone's desk and a definate breath of fresh air since all modern pieces chirp, beep, squeal, buzz, and play silly tunes. If a bell rang in my office now, I'd probably die from fright, lol. Nice family heirloom you found.

Hello & Welcome to the forum...
Very nice looking bell, I don't think I've ever seen one like it...
This sure has been a day for first...
Good luck, & Happy hunting!

gypsyheart, I believe they do have programs on the web you can get to make your own ring-tones...
