Minerials can change within a few feet. What works for me may not work where you detect. It can be ground balanced for most locations.

I have one. Though I am fairly new to using it, I do like it. It works well so far for me. I live and hunt in northern Colorado which is pretty mineralized though it can be spotty depending on location. As sandman said, soil conditions can vary so much even here in Colorado. The soil conditions out here on the plains are totally different than the soil up in the mountains. Or further east over in Kansas.

The LS though does well in most soils I have run into so far. Just have to know...you are going to dig alot. And dig deep. It finds stuff so deep sometimes, that I have said the heck with it...<laugh> I aint a young man...so I have to make a choice sometimes...and yea, I will likely live to regret it...but I simply dont have the ability to dig every dang signal. I wish I was 20 years younger.

Good luck and if you have any other questions on the LS, dont hesitate to ask. If I can answer, I will be happy to help.

Yep I nugget hunt with the Infinium LS Dan. Here in Oregon and N. Cali. It will handle any ground you throw at it. It isnt as sensitive as a Minelab but it doesnt cost $4500 bucks either. I paid for mine in 4 months with California gold nuggets.

Heres some pics of some of them: http://gallery.me.com/bearkat4160#100092&bgcolor=black&view=grid

Good luck!
