1880s to 1910s kind of looks to coincide with the eastlake design of that era.

Tamrock you know your stuff so I'm sure you're right on this, but I never would have pegged it for Eastlake. It's way more funky/less geometrically organized (if that makes sense) than what I expect for Eastlake. It looks older than what I would have guessed so I'm probably wrong but with the almost hieroglyphic-like layout of the design I would have pegged it as Egyptian Revival or something.

This, of course, is why I'm not an expert. ;)

No expert here either. I don't why, but the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was the shape & design, that somehow made me think of Eastlake furniture or a Prairie style design? The kind of stuff the good old day folks seem to admire. Egyptian revival would fit in with that era also. I was pretty sure of the time frame it was from if anything.

I found one similar design of gaudy styling on a site that goes deep into the 1700's, but the home survived much longer than that. I assumed mine was late 1800s

Mine has it's identical design that shows on the top, also on the full length of backside of the handle, which I'd never seen before.
