I have seen a similar button - somewhere. That's the problem, I can't remember where.

It is a tiny cuff button, 19th century and found on a Civil War battlefield in a house that burned in 1864. 2 piece.

Anyone seen one of these before. No backmark. IMG_2522.webp
 

Interesting looking button. You might have to wait til Crusader wakes up in the morning.

Sorry, not seen this type. It is a British Crown from the 19th C, but the oval bit is confusing, as that is more like a 20th C overall button.

Thanks for the reply Crusader. It was found almost 2' down in a house burned in 1864. I do not think its military. It was so gunked up I didn't recognize what it was until I was home and had to clean it heavily with the Andre's pencils.
