Hit the same area of the woods near work where I found the old IHP and token last week. Still not convinced that I have found the actual site yet. Here's today's lunch finds (not showing the handful of lead slugs and shotgun ends...) ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501782623.687911.jpg
What is this?

And this?

The lock is pretty cool, any idea on age?

Thanks I advance for any insight.

Good luck out there!

oil lamp parts, cool lock. pretty cool finds

I agree with dirtlooter. The second picture looks like the top off a lantern to me.

First item is either out of a keg tap or a water faucet or something along those lines i think.

Yes agreed that one item looks like a barrel tap.
Nice finds.

Looks like a knob off a gas light, would be where our light switches are today

Agreed, some type of spigot tap valve.

Too small to be a tap. It's a gas light knob!

See attached pic. BOOM, now that's an ID for ya brother!

The gas lamp valve key will not be the last one of those you find nor will the oil lamp piece with the wick adjuster. Both turn up regularly on 1880-1910 sites.

i was going to say clock winder key. id love ro see what you find on a dinner time hunt good job

I wouldn't discard that old lock as it could be worth more than you think. I couldn't find one like it but I noticed that all the pictures I saw had the word CORBIN inside an oval. Your lock has CORBIN in a rectangle. Could be manufactured around 1840 IMO.

Nice finds but that is part of a gas light it is the inside stem . I have a lot of them from old houses that still had gas lights in them. When they were torn down you can look up old gas lights and you will see it is part of the gas valve.
