Hoping for help from the token experts.

Today I found a token from Whiting, Iowa, HERE in Caldwell, Idaho.

Tokencatalog.com lists a:

Good For / 10 c / In Trade
Economy / SHOP / Whiting, Iowa

The one "I" found seems to say:
Good for / 50 c / In Trade
(Econ)om(y) / SHOP / (Wh)iting. Iowa

(...)= illegible

It seems to be aluminum clad over a core that is disintegrating.

ANY photos or authoritative notes and sources would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

That token is listed in Henderson's Iowa Trade Tokens book but with no historical details. It is shown with a rarity value of 4D which (for one in good condition) indicates 3-5 known and $10-20. There is a photo of the obverse of the token in the book - if you want, I could take a pic of the pic and post it.

What you are seeing on yours is no doubt aluminum oxide which makes aluminum tokens look like there is a white substance beneath the aluminum surface. Actually the token started out as all aluminum. The oxide occupies more volume, so it appears to be bubbles that open up.
