I found this today and I am not sure what it is..... Button ? The Half Dollar is for size comparison. Very thin but heavy like lead. Not really soft enough for lead..... Any help here would be great.
A few old buttons found at the same place also that helps me date the site. Found my first cell phone today also ;D

looks kind like a seal -- oriental type markings looks like --silk "cloth" seal maybe ? --pewter or a lead alloy of some type is possible----- I make a quick off hand wild guess of early 1800 era roughly -- say 1820 to 1840 based on the button design type and back mark

I think it is a miniature plate from a childs set, they were made out of soft metal like pewter or pot metal.

I don't think those are oriental markings or charactors Ivan... they look like a small flower and leaf design.

I think it's an "inset" for something...

Interesting piece,,,
I found something similar awhile back. I was thinking it, and possibly yours too, could be plates, or saucers, from an old toy place setting?

This one is about the same size as yours and is made of pewter, I think?
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

ah "see" what you mean now that you color highlighted it to make the design stand out better , jim ---(darn my old eyes!!)--- a flower pattern -- humm a female kids play toy set plate maybe just the ticket then --made of pewter --most folks today think of of "hard" lead when they find pewter because pewter has not been very commonly used in a long time -- things today are not made of pewter like they once where due to its deadly "lead" content -- lead which we now know is posionous and deadly --in the past many eating mugs and plates were made of it .--- Ivan
