Found this button and can't figure out what kind it is. Appears to have a lion in the middle in front of a shield maybe? I think there two other lions on each side of that. Also a crown on top of the shield. I can't make out the reading below. Any ideas?

Your button has a Mid-20th-Century-to-present type of 'self-shank" back. Although the emblem on the front is somewhat similar to the British Royal emblem, your button is definitely what button-collectors call a "Fashion" button, in this case made for use on men's sportscoats and blazers, etc.

For anybody here who doesn't already know:
The term self-shank back means the button's thin sheetmetal back itself is the "shank" (or loop) for sewing it onto clothing, instead of the loop being a separately-manufacured part which is attached onto the button's back. The photos below show two 20th-Century versions of a self-shank back. The simpler one dates to the very early 20th-Century. The more-complicated one dates from the mid-20th-Century. But both versions are still being manufactured today.
