I'm on a roll this year and lady luck is sitting on my shoulder. Went out again to a different part of the lake, struck out at the first place. Second place turned out to be a nice little spot, first good target was a 10 kt college class ring that read 19-20 on the Equinox.

Within 30 minutes I got it really funky reading with the numbers bouncing all over the mid to high 20s. At first, when I grabbed it, I thought I was pulling up a piece of black cloth till I realized I had a honking silver chain with two medallions attached. Turns out it is a medical alert medallion, sterling silver.

This is my second class ring in two days, Monday I'll start making phone calls to see if I can track down the owners. Third gold ring, third class ring and 23 third ring of the year hunting fresh water areas.

Can anyone make out the letters inside the ring???

1958 Class ring suggests that the man is now 80 yrs old, if he is still alive. Back in 1940 life expectancy for a male was 60.8 yrs old. My bet is that he has passed away, given the gender (male) and age.

Find a local jeweler and ask them to read the script. They should be familiar with the style.

The owner was a member of Theta Chi fraternity as the Greek letters on the stone show. National fraternities all have rosters of who their members are and often have better alumni contact than the school itself. I would recommend calling Theta Chi.
